Webucate is an on-line environment in which your learners
can participate no matter where they are – at home,
at work, on the road, or even overseas. If your people use
email wherever they are, then they can participate in your
training and education programmes wherever they are. Webucate’s
inbox-driven emphasis ensures that your learning programmes
don’t take a back seat when people have a busy job to
do at the same time.
|
| Webucate works with your existing training materials. You
can use your existing Word, Excel and Powerpoint files so you
don’t have to spend time and money to convert them to
online multimedia. Webucate concentrates on the process of
eCommunity learning, rather than the mechanics. Your learners
will love it and so will your tutors. Let the technology do
the work instead of getting in the way. |
| Webucate can work as a small e-learning system in its own
right (up to 500 students) or as a brilliant front end adding
value to large virtual campus systems. With Webucate, the campus
is the email inbox. |
| It's vital to understand that Webucate is different from other
systems in that it is 'inbox-driven'. Webucate takes as its
starting point the assumption that users will be busy people
and scattered geographically. Experience has shown that such
learners do NOT log into websites or bulletin boards to see
what has been going on with their course while they have been
busy earning a living. And they find the group email, or eCommunity,
absolutely vital to keeping on track. That's why the heart of
Webucate is the inbox-driven eCommunity learning. |
| Webucate allows course administrators to set up, manage and
control several virtual training programmes. It is ideal for
students who are scattered geographically but who need to be
kept motivated (for instance a national salesforce). It is also
useful for students who may be close together geographically
but meet only occasionally (for example a part time, one evening
a week class in a local college). It is ideally suited to programmes
where at least some occasional form of face-to-face contact
is provided, although it can be used for controlling pure distance
learning courses. |
| The annual licence fee is £2400 GBP (US$4,536) per hundred
users, plus VAT. So £200 GBP (US$378) per month allows
you to set up 100 users (any combination of tutors, delegates,
students, and administrators). That's just £2 GBP (US$3.78)
per student per month. If you deal mainly with people on short
training courses, this is probably all you need, as you can
re-use student registrations once they have passed through your
books.
You may not wish to commit to the annual fee until you have
tried Webucate. In this case you should purchase the Project
setup pack at £200 GBP (US$378) which allows you to
set up 10 users to run your tests. Webucate is very simple
to set up and use, and you probably won't need any technical
help. If however you do, you can purchase a help pack for
£50 GBP (US$94.50) per month which provides telephone and
email help on a 9 to 5 basis 5 days a week (UK time). |
